Sendit PRO make Sendit a professional (double opt-in) newsletter system for WordPress including a large list of new features really requested by all Sendit Users. It’s an external plugin that will work only if you have already Sendit installed on your WordPress blog / website.
Custom Post Type Newsletter
The first feature introduced is the new way to send and store the newsletter using the custom_post_type (introduced in WordPress 3.0) so you don’t need to send newsletter to large list using the traditional sendit form, but you can save your newsletter content and archive (and maybe if you play with your theme you can be also part of your blog archive readable from the web like posts and pages)

Cron Jobs
Sendit pro scheduler allows you to decide to schedule or not each newsletter, and setup your settings.
All settings required in order to make cron jobs work are:
- Interval in seconds between sending
- number of recipients x time
Smtp + wp_mail()
Finally i decided to remove my useless diuplicated phpmailer class integrating all functions with native wp_mail() and saving all SMTP options directlt as wp_options.
Important! if you manage very large mailing lists, before to setup cron jobs limits be sure to know all your service provider sending limits and try to do some fine tuning (es: Gmail cannot send more than 500 email x day if you use Gmail Smtp for example). Try some SMTP service and be sure you don’t use Sendit for Spam (please).
Sendit Pro Add On Packages is still in development, it will be the an integration of Sendit by me, Giuseppe Surace.
I am working to give more features to the plugin like:
- Sending emails scheduling with cron jobs
- Sending post directly from the edit post page on publish (optional)
- Tracking system: see how many readers open your newsletters
- Better SMTP implementation for “trusted” newsletters
- Better GMAIL SMTP integration (with cron jobs and scheduling gmail can send emails better but remember don’t play too much with Gmail, Gmail has a limit of 500 emails per day!)
- Custom post types support (you will have a panel for custom post types called newsletters so you can finally have an archive of all newsletter sent)
Probably it will have a fee of € 15 / 20 (not more) so let me advice you when the plugin will be ready to be downloaded! it will be a stand-alone plugin will integrate with your free Sendit installation but just add more features and increase permormance.
